As part of the sanctuary renovation, a perforated layer of wood was nested within the existing roof structure to emphasize the sacred axis of the building,absorb sound, and add texture and depth. The resultant interstice provides space for the lighting system- downlights which help illuminate the previously dark lofty space, as well as customized Poulsen fixtures, that provide more localized lighting near the nave's center aisle.
